Episode ThemeServant-Working: Following Jesus
Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, My servant also will be.
How is the game of Follow the Leader like being Christian? Time for a Bible Follow the Leader Quiz.
Question 1: Why did Abraham and Sarah decide to move far away to the land of Canaan (where they knew no one) when they were old enough to be grandparents? (Genesis 12)
Question 2: Why did Gideon arm his soldiers only with a trumpet, jar, and a torch before fighting their enemy? (Judges 7)
Question 3: Why did Samuel travel to Bethlehem even though the king would kill Samuel if he found out? (I Samuel 16)
Question 4: Why did Peter go to the house of an "unclean" man? (Acts 10)
How did you do? Abraham and Sarah left their comfortable home in their nice city to go live in a tent in a foreign land because God told them to go. Gideon took only 300 out of 32,000 soldiers and gave them unusual "weapons" to use because God told him. Samuel traveled to Bethlehem to anoint a new king because God told him to go. Peter ventured into a house he would have avoided because God told him to go.
Did you notice a pattern? These Bible people did unusual things because they were following what God told them to do. And because they followed God, they were rewarded with lots of land, many children, a huge victory, meeting a new king, and leading more people to Christ!
What about you? Are you ready for an exciting adventure with lots of blessings waiting for you? The first step just may be saying, "OK, God, I'll follow you today!"
