Episode ThemeCommunity Building – Tell jokes that make people laugh together!
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Paul the Apostle was a letter writer who would end his letters with encouragement. Now pretend you were receiving these following letters from Paul. Maybe they will make you smile.
Ephesians 6: 21-24. I want you to know how I am getting along and what I am doing. That’s why I am sending Tychicus to you. He is a dear friend, as well as a faithful servant of the Lord. He will tell you how I am doing, and he will cheer you up. I pray that God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will give peace, love, and faith to every follower! May God be kind to everyone who keeps on loving our Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 4: 23. I pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless your life!
2 Corinthians 13:13. I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will bless you and be kind to you! May God bless you with his love, and may the Holy Spirit join all your hearts together.
In these passages, Paul was an encourager and not a negative critic. A negative comment can destroy and be remembered for a very long time. Picture that negative comment like dynamite or a fire that can destroy a building in a matter of minutes.
Ninety-nine people can come and give praises; one person can come and criticize. We don’t always know the power of our words.
Building up and intentional encouraging takes time and effort, and encouragement can bless another person’s life. Picture encouragement like construction workers taking years to build a large, beautiful building.
Be an encourager and cheer someone up today!
