Episode ThemeOrder-Discovering: God can fix things.
But now you have united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.
Jesus is our Redeemer Savior. What does this mean? To “redeem” means to buy something (or someone) back, usually in exchange for something like money or property. “Savior” means to save or to rescue. Have you ever thought about everything Jesus gave up—just to rescue us?
Think about Jesus before he was born in Bethlehem. Jesus enjoyed perfect unity with God his father and with the Holy Spirit. All the angels celebrated and praised Jesus in ways we can’t even imagine. When God was creating our world, Jesus was there. Jesus enjoyed each day’s work with God. He saw it all. Jesus lived in a place with no sin, no pain, no darkness…..only light and love and life and complete joy. Perfect adoration by the angels. Perfect relationship with God. Perfect everything!
When Jesus came to live with humans on earth he left his perfect existence in heaven and was born as a baby in a dirty stable surrounded by dirty animals and people. He lived a perfect life amidst sinful actions, words, thoughts of others. He grew up with a humble, sinful family. He was never understood by any other human being. And he was cut off from perfect unity with God for the first time in forever. Eventually he was….beaten….whipped….ridiculed. and total separated from God, enduring punishment for every sin committed, even though he never committed a sin.
God never forced Jesus leave his side and come to earth to redeem us.
…..to take our place
……to pay our penalty
…..to save us from our sin.
Because he wanted
…..to love and enjoy us for eternity
…..to give us the opportunity to know God.
All Hail, King Jesus, our Redeemer Savior!
