Theme: Memorizing Bible Verses

What do you do when you are scared? One time Paul and his friend Silas were beaten and then locked up in a jail cell. What did they do?  They prayed and sang songs to God! Read about it in Acts 16:16-40.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

  • What songs of praise to God do you know that you could sing when you are scared or alone? Memorize a new song this week.
  • Memorize the Bible verse by making up motions for each phrase.
  • Write comforting Bible verses on cards. Then put the cards into a small photo album that you can carry with you wherever you go. Or make several small albums of Bible verses: one for the car, one for the bedroom, and one for devotions at dinner.
  • MEMORY VERSE

    Psalm 119:103-105

How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
