Theme: Why Jesus?

Why do we celebrate Christmas?  Why did Jesus need to be born as a baby to be our Savior?  Read Genesis 3, Luke 2, and John 3 to learn about God’s plan of salvation for us!

  • Create a Jesse Tree to celebrate Christmas. Make ornaments to represent people in the Bible who point us to Jesus (such as a rainbow for Noah). Or decorate a tree with ornaments that tell the names the Bible uses for Jesus. (Messiah, Lamb, Bread of Life, Light, Bread, Vine, Way, Truth, Life, Son of God, Immanuel, Lamb, Priest, Prophet, Word, Lord, Savior, Christ...) As each ornament is added to the tree, review the reason for Jesus’ birth! (If you want to learn more about creating a Jesse Tree, just check out the web—a search will lead you to lots of great ideas.)

    John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
