Theme: Winter Family Sports
Choose to love the season of winter! Let's teach our children that we enjoy God's creation year round. Here's some suggestions for creating family, neighbourhood, and church fun during Wintertime.
Look for a great day for snow sculptures, snowmen and snow forts. With your encouragement some great snow art can happen using many of the tools that you use to make sand castles in summer. Challenge neighbors and friends.
Snowball Biathlon Team Event.
Main Idea: Run to all the checkpoints (4) and hit the target.
Instructions: The teams must run to the checkpoint where they must hit a target. They line up each taking a turn at hitting the target with snowballs/beanbags. Each team must hit the target 4 times before moving on to the next checkpoint. There will be 2 teams who will be racing and two targets. 1 target/lineup for each team. First to the finish line wins!
100 m dash in winter clothes
Family members will run the 100 m dash in full winter gear. The person with the fastest time wins.
Using toboggans, the group must pull or be pulled along a course. The first group across the finish line wins. The group with the team with the fastest time wins.
Of course, organizing a street hockey game, creating a backyard ice rink or teaching your family to cross-country ski, downhill ski or snowboard will encourage them to stay fit and enjoy God's creation during the winter months.
I Timothy 4:4-5
