Theme: God is in control.
1. Proverbs 16:33 says, “... The Lord alone determines what happens.” If God controls everything, how should we make plans for what we’re going to do? How do we know if the thing we’re doing is something we want or something God wants?
2. The apostle Paul went on three long journeys to tell people about Jesus Christ. In Galatians 4:12-15, he wrote about his first journey when he got sick. He doesn’t say what was wrong with him. But it was probably a disease that made his eyes puff up and drip pus. It’s not a pretty picture. He had to make an unplanned stop in Galatia. He was probably upset because the plans for his trip had to be changed. But the people there took care of him. He even wrote that they probably would have given him their own eyes if they could! Even though he was sick and not where he wanted to be, God allowed him to tell the Galatians about Jesus Christ and how they could be saved. Think about how God is in control and can use your circumstances to accomplish his will as you listen to today’s story.

Reflect
In this episode, Liz got caught up in superstitions instead of trusting God to take care of him. It’s easy to get caught up with superstitions because they’re all around us.
God says we should always trust in Him. He says that we should even be careful about the way we make plans. Of course, we have to plan what we need to get done. Your homework isn’t going to get done if you wait around for God to do it for you! But you should prepare to let the Lord lead as you make and carry out your plans. How can you make your plans according to the will of God? Remember, God is always in control, no matter what.

Challenge
You can trust God in any situation because he has a PLAN for your life, and he has the POWER to make it happen. Make a poster for your room that says, "GOD has a PLAN and the POWER!" How will you decorate it? What colors will you use? Put it on the wall to remind yourself that God is in control of everything.
