Reflect

In this episode, Liz and his friends feel bad about how they treated Scooter after he disappears from camp.

In Luke 6:31, God gives us the perfect way to show kindness. It says, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” It’s that simple. In any situation, ask yourself what you would like other people to say to you or do for you. Then do those things for other people. This is sometimes called “The Golden Rule.” If you follow this rule with everyone you meet, then you will be kind.

Challenge

Divide a piece of paper into thirds. Label one section "Iron", one "Silver", and one "Golden". Choose one of these scenarios, or think of your own.

  • Someone dropped your books and papers in the middle of a crowded hallway.
  • Someone is carrying a lot of stuff and needs someone to open a door.
  • Someone needs a little extra money to buy something.
  • Someone makes fun of a friend's outfit.

Draw or write three possibilities for how to respond. Iron is unkind. Silver is nice, but not the best. Golden is how you would want to be treated. Keep your eyes out for ways to treat others Golden! Keep the paper for the next episode!
