Reflect

In this episode Morrie returns to Terrene, but he is not the same lizard that Liz and Spike remembered. Granny reminds them that however things may change, Jesus is a friend who promises to always be the same.

We see God’s promises and his faithfulness in the Bible. But we also see it every day. We see it in the order of his creation. When we flick a light switch, the laws of creation make electricity flow. Two plus two always equals four. The earth continues to spin to bring day and night and revolves around the sun to change the seasons. All creation’s order sings God’s praise and points to God’s faithfulness. Though we turn switches off and on, solve different math problems, and enjoy the changes each day and season brings, the order remains the same.

Challenge

As a family, you can look back at your family life and see how God has supported and blessed you through good times and bad times.

On the top of a piece of paper, write the memory work from this episode. Below that, make three columns. In the first column, list five things that were true three years ago. In the second column, list how those five things changed until now. In the third column, make an up arrow, a down arrow, or a question mark to show whether the change was good, bad, or you don’t know yet. Whatever is in the columns, you can look at the verse at the top and know that Jesus is faithful forever.
